Autonomous a2z (CEO Han Ji-hyeong), headquartered in Hayang-eup, Gyeongsan-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, is a technology-led venture company that has developed the best self-driving technology for automobiles in Korea within two years of its founding.

A research and development (R&D) organization made up of top experts in the field of 'cognition-judgment-control', the core technology for autonomous driving, is being formed to carry out technical service tasks with Hyundai Motor, KT, and LG U+.

Autonomous a2z, founded in July 2018, currently holds three domestic patents related to autonomous driving.

The main business areas are robot taxi business, unmanned shuttle business, unmanned special purpose vehicle business, unmanned vehicle test equipment business, and autonomous driving algorithm development software business. This year, it won an order for the government R&D project worth 6.7 billion won, while sales of about 2.5 billion won are expected in the business area.

Autonomous a2z signed an agreement with Kakao Mobility and KST Mobility to secure the technology and service quality of a service app dedicated to the autonomous driving platform.

It is expanding its business field by signing an exclusive sales contract for autonomous driving algorithm development software with Lumisol, which has the exclusive sales right for Velodyne in Korea, a lidar sensor maker.

In addition, it is jointly developing and researching unmanned vehicle driving performance test equipment with a domestic automaker, and it is scheduled to be released in 2021. In the future, it plans to sell to overseas automobiles and automobile-related companies.

Autonomous a2z has increased its employment by 875% since the end of its founding year. In particular, taking the lead in expanding local employment, the Daegu, Gyeongsan, Sejong, and Ulsan regions account for about 50% of the total. An industry-academic cooperation support program is also in operation to provide jobs for young people.

Last year, it operated field training in connection with the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Kyungil University, and conducted self-driving car theory and operation training, and continued hiring.
