Autonomous a2z participated in 'AICON Gwangju 2021', a global AI conference held at Kimdaejung Convention Center from December 16 (Thu) to 18 (Sat).
Autonomous a2z is a company specializing in autonomous driving, developing a new paradigm autonomous driving service that connects people and cities, and realizes the value of innovative technologies and smart city autonomous driving platforms that will be realized throughout the city.
An official from Autonomous a2z said, "There is an autonomous driving vehicle made as part of the Gwangju AI cluster development project. Based on a two-seater mini electric vehicle, we applied the technology to enable autonomous driving by installing lidar and cameras on a trial basis." explained.
"Additionally, we have developed a technology to observe nearby vehicles, traffic lights, and vehicles violating traffic laws by attaching lidar to the infrastructure. If the infrastructure recognizes the surrounding traffic conditions and provides information to the vehicle, blind spots do not occur and it is safe because information can be received in advance. Currently, the lidar infrastructure system is being used in various cities such as Pangyo, Daegu, and Sejong."

Meanwhile, 'AICON Gwangju 2021' hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT, Information and Communication Industry Promotion Agency, and Gwangju Metropolitan City and hosted by the Artificial Intelligence Industry Convergence Project Group, was attended by over 30 speakers from 7 countries with artificial intelligence (AI) technology around the world. Under the theme of 'Ai, in this shining place', AI technology trends were examined and the direction of the role of artificial intelligence in the process of industrial convergence was presented. In addition, in the exhibition hall on the first floor, an AI company exhibition, a buyer consultation meeting, a job fair in which a total of 40 AI startups participated, and a one-on-one recruitment consultation were held. Also, in the Metaverse exhibition hall, experience booths for AI-related companies participating in 'AICON Gwangju 2021' were created.
