Autonomous a2z is an autonomous driving company composed of experts from domestic OEMs such as Hyundai Motors and Mando. It researches and develops autonomous vehicle platform, VLP-16 SDK, unmanned vehicle performance test KIT, and autonomous driving recognition system.
Although it is a 3-year-old startup established in July 2018, it has launched Korea’s first self-driving paid service based on solid technology. In addition, it is developing technologically and financially by attracting 16 billion won of Series A investment in 2021.
In this exhibition, Lidar infra system based on 5G network and autonomous car will be introduced. The 5G-based LiDAR infrastructure system collects autonomous vehicles and traffic infrastructure data through 5G-V2X technology at the control center, and based on the collected data, autonomous vehicles can be improved more safely and conveniently. In the case of autonomous vehicles, existing commercial vehicles have been modified to enable autonomous driving, and are products that can be driven on real roads.
The 5G-based LiDAR infrastructure system can identify the following data. △ Entity Recognition: Movement trajectory/absolute position △ Traffic light: Time change location/data △ Traffic situation: Traffic flow, dangerous moment △ Weather: Rain/snow △ Emergency situation: Traffic accident/construction
Autonomous a2z has developed a full-stack algorithm to enable autonomous driving recognition, judgment, and control with a single software (SW). In addition, this SW can be applied to various platforms from small electric vehicles to passenger cars, vans, and special purpose vehicles. In fact, it is a vehicle to which its own full-stack algorithm is applied, and it is being demonstrated on real roads in cities such as Gyeongsan, Gwangju, Daegu, Sangam, Sejong, Anyang, Ulsan, Pangyo, and Hwaseong.
An official from Autonomous a2z said, "Our company plans to introduce the autonomous driving mobility mass production in 2027 in line with the 'autonomous driving technology development innovation project' announced by the government earlier this year. It is a completely unmanned box car with no dents, and it is planned to secure specifications of a cruising distance of 200 km or more, a maximum speed of 50 km/h, and a climbing performance of 20% in two types, 3 m in length, small and 5 m, medium. We will take a leap forward in technology,” he said.
