Autonomous a2z (CEO Han Ji-hyeong , hereinafter a2z ), a company specializing in autonomous driving solutions, announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with MORAI (CEO Jeong Ji- won , Hong Jun) , a company specializing in autonomous driving simulation technology.

According to the agreement, the two companies will merge a2z’s ‘autonomous driving solution demonstration technology’ and MORAI’s ‘autonomous driving simulation technology’.

First, a2z decided to share the required specifications and technical information necessary for the development of simulations for autonomous driving demonstration. MORAI decided to help upgrade a2z’s mobility solution by utilizing it’s digital twin simulation technology. In addition, it has decided to develop simulation functions to improve mobility cognitive performance, AI(artificial intelligence) datasets and jointly build a digital twin simulation based on a precision road map.

Han Ji-hyeong, CEO of a2z, said, “We have had a lot of difficulties while conducting the demonstration of autonomous driving car technology with limited research manpower in various parts of the country.” And “we expect MORAI’s digital twin simulation to minimize physical test to dramatically shorten the commercialization period for autonomous cars and speed up technology development.”
 

Jeong Ji-won, the CEO of MORAI, said “We will provide an environment where autonomous driving car developers can quickly and accurately verify autonomous driving software and systems through simulation and digital twin technology.” And “we plan to actively cooperate with a2z to lay the foundation for developing autonomous driving cars in a stable and efficient environment.”

Meanwhile, a2z was recently selected as the final operator of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport‘s autonomous driving mobility service project” and will demonstrate passengers and logistics integrated autonomous driving services from the second half of this year with Kakao Mobility , KT , Hyundai Autoever , Newability, and Korea Automobile Research Institute.
