'I'm looking for a manpower' 'I'm looking for a job'. It is a contradictory cry in a completely opposite situation, but it is a story between job seekers and companies that is currently taking place in Korea.

As the era of the 4th industrial revolution begins in earnest, companies are in dire need of professional manpower, but job seekers trained in the existing education system are unable to find jobs. This is because the company does not have the necessary capabilities. I, who runs a self-driving startup, is also hiring talented people in almost all fields, from developers to planning, HR, sales, public relations, and marketing, but when it comes to hiring people, they basically require understanding and experience in the relevant industry.

Most companies hire only experienced workers who will be put into practice right away. There is not enough time to recruit new employees who need at least six months of training after hiring. There is also the fear that they might change their jobs.

As nurturing talents for the 4th industrial revolution has become a national task, each university is setting up related departments, and the government is rolling up its arms to nurture human resources by implementing various talent nurturing projects. However, it is insufficient to meet the corporate demand.

It is difficult to nurture talents that real companies want through schools or specialized educational institutions. There are many reasons, but the most important is the lack of professional education professors and instructors. As the word '4th Industrial Revolution' is, it is the era of 'revolution', so most true experts in related fields are fighting in the field. It is a pity for them to have a cat's hand to organize documents, move test samples, or find error messages.

As a professor at Kyungil University, three years have passed since I started the company, and now about 80 people have been hired. We utilized the university's field training system and the government's labor cost support program appropriately. While nurturing and attracting manpower, related systems were utilized to reduce the burden. It takes about 3 to 6 months, but some of them have accumulated practical skills and are working full-time.

The task of nurturing talent is not only required by the education industry, but also companies with excellent experts must participate. The limitations of the current talent nurturing system, which cannot respond to the overflowing human resources demand, have already been revealed.

It is also necessary to consider measures such as subsidizing part of the government-funded talent development project cost to on-the-ground companies to train new employees, giving them the right to hire excellent trainees first, or providing tax benefits when hiring trainees. do. It is also a good idea to give additional points to companies that have contributed to job creation when winning government projects.

Companies can borrow a cat's hand for free for a few months right now, and when hiring new employees, they will be able to hire qualified personnel and put them into practice quickly. From the perspective of trainees, they can receive practical education that they could not learn at schools or educational institutions. In addition, you will be able to reduce the probability of job turnover by getting information about the industry and knowing if it is the right industry for you while experiencing the industry.

Of course, there are still various industry-academic cooperation systems such as contract departments and field training, but these are only applicable to the existing manufacturing industries, research institutes, and secondary industries such as mid-sized and large enterprises. Since the main body is centered on universities and educational institutions, there are parts that do not fit with the current era.

It is necessary to supplement the existing system and completely change the way of thinking. It is time to encourage not only the education sector but also the industry to take the lead in nurturing talent.
